For what it's worth I don't think they have sent anything out yet, despite their claims to the contrary. I can't find a single beta key for sale on eBay which is a good sign that there aren't any available.

Downfall, a really good German made movie.

If I owned a multi hundred million dollar mmo and I saw competition anywhere near and I could dislodge their efforts in any way, I would. Without thinking twice.

Word I got from a Russian hacker on pwndemu is alot of bots are spamming the eqemu login to keep poeple out.

Rogue (Jumping In) Griefing: Proposed Solution
I'd first like to define "Rogue Griefing" as when someone jumps in front of your attacks with the intention of you hitting them and you going rogue so they can PK you.

At this point, you are left with the option of either running, dying, or killing them and taking an alignment hit.

You can argue "Just be moar carefulz lulZ", but it becomes I real hassle to tip-toe around mobs because 100 jackasses are crowding around hoping you hit them.

The solution is to make the rogue timer dependent on the amount of damage you took. Someone who hit someone once accidentally should be rogue for about 10 seconds, if they hit you twice, 20 seconds.

It isn't a perfect solution, but this problem should be looked into.

But grey flagging discourages pvp too much until the newb makes that first hit and the newb will get frustrated because they'll correctly assume alignment and flagging was meant to discourage annoying pking but they are the ones still getting annoyed.

After the beginning, once my guild is established a little, it won't matter as we will kill pretty much anyone not in our guild, including people of the same faction.

No PvP flags, nerd. You CAN attack anyone you want, but there may be some penalties for killing people of your own faction.

I think the only effects of this are that guards will attack you in some cities and merchants might not trade with your. There are, however, NPC cities that you will be able to go to even if you are labeled as a murderer. To established guilds it won't matter as they will only use their own guild's city anyway.

I'm not sure how the Rogue status works, but I think you get labeled one for a short period of time after killing a person of your own faction. This probably means other people of your faction can kill you for no penalty.

I signed up on the forums on Dec 2005 and signed up for the beta the day it was available. I'm also on the guild beta list and in the forums it says I'm a member of my guild, but I haven't gotten one either.

I was signed up to their forum in Dec 2006 and signed up for Beta like the first day and haven't gotten an invite. It sort of rages me to think that someone could have stumbled upon Darkfall for the first time a few days ago and still got a beta invite instead of me.

but meh, watcha gonna do. as long as the game turns out to be legit I don't mind missing out on Beta.
