Another faggoty car we'll never see in America
Also, it never says it can get 235 mpg at 75 mph,
it just said thats the max speed
Enjoy dying when I crush you under my fuel inefficient hummer
This is the Passat wagon I bought, except mine has different wheels and no fog lights:

Gnome's vehicle has a better paint job.

Looks like one of the cars from that Nickelodeon show DOUG
Looks awesome to me. I've always wanted a jet style 2-seater.
I think you lose any dignity you had left once you step into that car
It needs machine guns, right above the wheels, for it to be cool
and a microwave
The sad thing about these vehicles is that people who can't afford the high cost of gas likely wont be able to own some fringe car. The market is usually reserved to a small, select crowd.
It needs to be as affordable as a Kia, and not look completely ridiculous. Not that the prototype shown looks bad, its very futuristic, but I'm not sure how many people would go for it.
i dont think our environmental laws will ever allow these in the states. its a car not a motorcycle meaning must pass crash safety test FAIL
environmental California standards (fail) or add emission smog pumps etc that will rob horsepower and it wont be able to hit that 70 mph speed and then not be safe for highway use FAIL.
unless we repeal some laws on the books we wont allow this good car in America.
If truth be told![]()
Smart-car is already roaming the streets here in the great Pacific NW. One of my wife's hat-model chix has one and loves it. I'm pretty sure you can't fit a wolfhound in one tho, so no dice for us.
I'm pretty sure it's oil companies and auto manufacturers killing fuel-efficient cars gnomie, not eco-nazis. (can't be assed to search for proof tho)
To be more precise, the oil companies and auto manufacturers have effectively captured the gummint agencies that are supposed to regulate them (at least nationally). This is why the production of SUVs (or "CUV"s, the retarded little cousins of SUVs with the same shitty mileage) are effectively subsidized by CAFE standards.
I wont say it looks ridiculous, but kinda weird, like a go-cart. 40-45 mpg is good, but I was expecting better for a car that looks like that.
I'm looking at a list of the most fuel efficient cars, and the hybrids are the highest with around 45 mpg tops. I thought there used to be standard cars that would get in the 50s years ago. ??
yeah, the old civics with the m-n-m sized wheels would get around 50mpg.
the little buggers had a 5 gallon gastank. you could get change BACK from a $5 bill after filling the thing. It was freaky.
New diesels can get around 40 mpg or more, which is still a good deal even though diesel is more expensive.
I would have very seriously considered a Mazda 6 wagon, but they stopped making it. The asians, like the americans, make "crossover utility vehicles" instead of station wagons for the American market. Which means your only choices (except for kia and subaru) are German and Swede cars. The Passat wagon has the best features/size to price ratio, especially after the dealer quoted me a price ~$2000 lower than invoice by mistake and I held him to it.
i was being sarcastic kind of like this
you are funny
This afternoon I was coming home and listened to our AM radio station Fox News affiliate, and the guy was ranting about how the price of gas really isn't that bad compared to all the other things Americans routinely blow their money on, and that we've been spoiled for so long by incredibly low fuel prices.
So what I took from it was that Republicans want everyone to think gas is still very cheap and people should quit complaining.
What was that video about anyways, it not playing anymore, however I did happen to find the HOTTEST ASS ON THE NET - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au9Zc3dNpE8
CONFIRM BIRTH DATE PLS.
I saw one of these at a car show here a few months ago. It actually has more room than it looks like from that pic, but not by much. The people in the front seat have plenty of room, and of course there's no back seat.
Not bad just for getting around. Especially when gas gets to $10+ per gallon.
