I dont have a complete understanding here. When you emulate, do you keep the quests and the npcs? Cause there are extensive quests for each bracket in the game, you just hvae to have...you know, played.

I think the problem with alot of em is theyre not consistent. Some give incredible xp for almost no work, and alot are the opposite.

Ehh... there are a good amt of newbie quests for <level 10, and then theres the armor quests in midlevels, but there really isnt much else tbh dayse.
I was looking and I had about half the solro temple quests in and I planned to enter in all BUTTHOLEBUTTHOLEBUTTHOLE remaining, but custom quests are never a bad thing.
if it takes away from the tedium of grinding and gives you something to do and possibly has people fighting over spawns, why is this bad? =P
I figured something like 10 extra quests per race from level 1-30 that are reasonably easy to find. Nothing amazing on gear , just for xp so while your out hunting you have more options bbb
I have alot of imagination, but would I just have to write up quest ideas in something like Word or would I have to use a quest making program?
I think a repeatable quest that targets other races noob areas would be a good plan -- get higher levels farming noob mobs, so that life sucks for that races noobs unless someone bothers to keep the area clear.
should reflect relative racial dislikes... with low-level quest for rivals and high for hatreds.

Alright, im really getting to the bottom of this but still not that close to a resolution.
Basically I hit the lottery, and the kernel/etc i have to work with is the one that everyone has problems with =P
I was running some traces,etc and for wtf ever reason its trying to load the spells twice, and the second time it screws up. I dont think itll be much longer before its running on fedora.
The stupid thing is, this code works fine on nearly every other linux system you could imagine 8(

Id like any volunteers to help design/plan some new zones and keep them a tad interesting.
I was thinking of doing something pirate themed out in the ocean (and lord knows we had a whoel expansion of pirate crap, some nice models too) and sorta how velious was setup where you had different factions warring with eachother. like the evil camp would have quests to go into the dark camp and vice versa. Or it could be more of a pirates vs imperial force, etc,etc ,etc.
Could even have some battles on ships swashbuckling arr! =P
Could have a quest take you out on patrol, boats could get boarded, etc, it could be nifty BUTTHOLEBUTTHOLEBUTTHOLE.
Another thing is, id like to keep cazic thule loot outside, and make CT a high end zone.... in the scope of old world. Ie loot along fear/hate lines and along that difficulty.
Im putting in npcs which are between 10-20k hps that are well known flower persona and or stuff from picture stories.
Blart actually starts the shaman 'epic' and it starts with swamp defense with powercampers spawning,etc. Blart can be killed but he throws ebolts around pretty good and procs 70% slow on you. Ill buff him up even more later =P
Skiller gay will make an appearance in nro to start BUTTHOLEBUTTHOLEBUTTHOLE bard quest BUTTHOLEBUTTHOLEBUTTHOLE, etc.

Im going to put a bunch of vendors in the EC tunnel, and perhaps implement a sort of bazaar system there like WR has.
(and obviously this is still full pk like the entire rest of the world)
Basically any models can be put in any zone, and we have 11 expansions of zone geometry(plus the ability to create new zones, if any modelers/mappers are out there) to go through.
What i dont want to do is dilute the world, so if there is new content I want to keep it accessable, easy to get to, and small and or dense, so that we dont have kunark syndrome. Maybe a 2-3 extra zones targeted at level ranges/niches that are currently lacking, and make sure to keep the 'revamped' stuff doable.
Extra content in existing zones would be nice too, again. Just want to spice things up not ubify anything,etc.
remove that big ass zone between fardwer and freeport and put in pirates cove
have pirates fight officers and ships zoom around and pass each other and stuff and you gotta time your jump perfectly to board and pillage.
can you cast spells on boats now?Could even have some battles on ships swashbuckling arr!
it was set specifically so you couldnt kill boats. boats are normal mobs otherwise ....sorta =P

Make a npc guild, that takes over zones rangeing from level 35 to 65 and they run through zone by zone killing npcs, and stuff, and there PK-able. they respawn every 48 hours after pked. and they use 4 different zones to respawn in >> Steamfont Mts. , Field of Bone , Innothule Swamp, Western Wastes, they run through as many places as they can until they get pked.
Maybe add the thing from WoW -- where you could see what was getting attacked, but make something like this ( IF POSSIBLE )

my idea for halas is, you need to kill 10 wolf pups before getting killed by the guards + kill a npc in the well and/or drag there body to the water so they cant find it.

you need to have a guard follow you onto the boat, and he follows you like a hostie in cs =X, you take him to across because he was told by the 'king' 'fag' 'lord' to patrol the zone exit but hes new on the job so he doesn't know where it is, thats why you show him.
once you leave the zone you find the quest you got it from @ the tents, to get xp. [ level 5-10 ]

The zone will be more open up, picture this ... the whole zone is clear once you get off the raft, theres a small log cabin on your right (bank), theres 3 venders on your left (food, spells, gear). Then the rest of the zone will have ice fisherman, they carry fishing poles and they double as guards.
there will be an arena where all the buildings would circle around.

there will be a building with locks rouges can practice lock-pick on, It will have 4 people inside : 2 Bartenders, 1 vendor for brewer supplys, and a drunkard -- that runs around spamming 'GIMME MORE ALE!' and 'BUTTHOLEBUTTHOLEBUTTHOLE! Glug, Glug, Glug' , and he will hit you every once and a while, for 45 damage the bar is called 'The Toothpick'.
