whoa i got back from it..and i must say im very dissapointed and yet kinda satisfied at the same time. Most of the fight scenes were cool...the dialog was horrible...and ..most of the movie is cgi..WTF IS UP WITH THAT...all of the clones were cgi, all of the wookies were cgi..about 85% of that movie is CGI WTF!!!! but it did anwser a good bit of questions i had on certain matters..like the whole bluish ghost thing and the ending was pretty cool. James Earl Jones is THE MAN!! and BUT WE NEED MORE OF HIS SECKY VOICE OMGOMGOMG!!!

I really really enjoyed it, although i do wish lucas would have atleast thrown in 1 suprise... i knew the whole plot, making it a lot less interesting, and i didnt even try hard to find it out. The fight scenes were visually stunning, and i really enjoyed them, although now i am sad that an era has come to an end, =/

I think in a 2 and a half hour movie, it is easy to nitpick little details, but overall, i dont care what any of the "anti lucas, hes killing the series, my head is going to explode" kids say, it had awsome visual effects, and THE BEST light saber fights out of any of the movies, hands down. Its almost not possible to compare the 1 fight in a new hope to this, its like comparing janet reno to jennifer lopez.
This film also had very good situational dialog, and very different scene selections. If you dont think it was sweet when they showed anikahn looking through the eyeholes of the mask as it was lowering on him, then i personally think no movie could ever satisfy you. I also really liked the dialog when ani was burning alive, and he screams out "i hate you" and at that moment his eyes were so wicked crazy, i dont really think i will ever forget that scene.
Besides all that, c3-po had one of the best scenes in the movie with the oil torch. I may not be a total obsessive compulsive star wars fan like some, so i cant really see where everyone is comming from with all of this star wars badmouthing, but i also have the ability of looking at it just as a movie, no matter what the plot is, and from that standpoint, ROTS > any 2004/2005 movie hands down. this film deserves every cent it makes in the box office, and in my book, is just as good as return of the jedi.

I thought it was pretty decent up until he turns. It was too rushed hohoho. one second he's like "what have I done?!" next he's on his knees "i'll do whatever you want" and then slices up a bunch of kids. ooooooookkkaaaaayyyyyyy.

There's a zillion things I could nitpick that could've & should've been fixed/changed/etc with a proofread or reshooting some scenes, but that's the biggest dilly hohoho.

I still liked the movie overall though. It was decent a decent flick. And not just in comparison to the previous 2 crapfests Lucas served up.

Certainly nowhere near as good as any from the holy trilogy though.

i dont know why your getting so mad with the "learn your star wars" line. I said in my post that i wasnt a hardcore starwars fan, so im not a plotwhore, i see them as they are... movies. And hohoho ROTS was more of a dark film, which i think is a good way of doing things... because episode 1 was rediculously childish.

I also thought it had better battle scenes then ROTJ, it has a great fight with yoda in it, which deffinitally makes it good, sidious actually uses a light saber... which is something that needed to finally happen, because up untill that point, in every star wars movie where he actually does something, all you see him use is force lightning... which dosnt exactly depict him as being a big bad sith. ROTS had MUCH better camera angles then any of the other movies by far, i know thats just a difference in technology and such, but still, it adds to the movie. ROTS did everything lucas said it would, it ties up the loose ends from episode I-II, it had the best light saber fights/battle scenes out of any of the movies, it showed the painfull transformation of AS, and most importantly, it raps up the first 3, so if you were watching episode 3, then 4, you would understand just what exactly was happening. ROTJ is still my favorite, but i see no reason why ROTS cant be ranked on that level.

Yeah WTF was with that CGI?? I mean they could have easily made a thousand+ robots to play the droids and cloned their own army like it was nothing! PFFF CGI IS DUM. They should have filmed the space fight scenes IRL and stuff.

Unless it is done just so, it looks cartoony as hell.

Maybe it doesn't bother you (and I happen to know someone who 90% of the time can't tell the difference between a CGI shot & a RL shot) but it's a huge distraction for me.

actually i hate how they had Yoda and sidious fight with lightsabers. I never pictured yoda or sidious needing to use a lightsaber in battle. I always saw them just using force powers, so i was very dissapointed when they used them.

and egrole is right, chewie and that other wookie that yoda talked too when he got in that shuttle werent CGI and there isnt anything wrong with CGI unless it doesnt suck like it did in this movie

Firstly, the originals were made in the late 70s and 80s. CGI wasn't as advanced as it was now, so of course they didnt use it in those movies. If it were available then in the ways it had advanced now, I'm almost positive Lucas would have used it to get shots that were impossible at the time. Sometimes you need CGI. It would have been retarded if everything that wasn't human was a puppet.
Secondly, they aren't your movies, don't say "it should be this way!" Make your own multi-billion dollar movie franchise and you can do whatever you want. Constant lightsaber battles, JarJar exploding, more make-out scenes, whatever.

And Yoda vs Sidious with lightsabers was AWESOME. Their battle with just force powers would have sucked, Light Side of the Force doesn't use offensive powers besides push or lifting, which they did as well. But you're right, it's not like the Lightsaber is the weapon of the Jedi or anything. Not like even during the original movies lightsaber colors were used to more clearly define good and evil characters. If everyone had a white lightsaber then Vader wouldn't seem as evil, and Luke not as good.

And puppet Yoda where you never saw his legs could have totally fought just as cool as a CGI Yoda. (sarcasm BTW)

whoa, i never said the lightsaber fight wasnt awesome, i just said i never pictured them using lightsabers. And as for the white lightsaber comment..you have seen the origianl cut of the movies that came out in '77 did you? the lightsabers in that movie were white n00btard. cus they didnt have the technology to color them in, they were just the theater movie screen stuff wrapped up in a tube so when the light hit it would reflect and look all glowy and cool, which it did.

and its not like they couldnt have made up some more wicked cool force powers to use in a fight between two master force users or anything like that.

and you did get to see puppet yoda's legs

and as for better cgi, the cgi in lotr is way better than the cgi used in ep. 3.

I am 100% positive he would have used CGI for the original if he had the technology & budget. All doubt is extinguished by the "special edition" versions where he "completes his vision". Personally, I think his vision blows bigtime. Nearly all the CGI changes were kissing lame as hell . I'll stick to the incomplete total suck version that became the #2 highest ticket selling movie of all time, k thx.

I couldn't stop laughing when they everyone in the movie kepts saying younglings after the first time.

Personally I like the first half until Palpatine turned into a cackaling idiot and then liked it again after Anakin got all cripple.
