eh, I got it, thinking that a lot would be improved since the beta, and not much has been, the world is like a dead place, for a game that strives on players meeting up and doing shit together, there isnt much talking or interaction with other people, its lame, I agree though, if you get people you know to play, itd be a funner game. But good luck with that hohoho. I made a level 1 guy but had to be called "Wacky Marv" because it cant just be a single name, wtf dumb.

I hate that there is no jumping, but when has there ever been jumping around in a hack and slash game right, plus no Z plane probably creates a lot less stress on the server, part of the reason they can run the game for free.

I have a mild interest in playing the game, but yeah, it just seems like you'd have to play with people you know in order for it to be fun. But then, I guess any MMORPG is more fun that way.

I wasn't so impressed in the "tutorial" area, but now I'm hooked! I created a few pvp characters to mess around and really enjoyed it..

So you don't have to pay a monthly fee? Who hosts the servers?

And do you need a CD key? It would'nt suck if people were able to log in without paying!

Ive read some pretty bad reviews of it lately. like 100 hours of pve grinding to get a proper pvp char, meh

It's fun hohoho, but mostly because i'm bored of the other mmo's and wasn't able to renew eq til today. I keep making new alts, but my E/N is around lvl 10 and named Vegtam the Wanderer fire/energy/blood wizard for the win. I kinda like the instanced world, as other people piss me off more than they make me happy. I've actually had some good groups and it's been fun. Most of the time though the other people just suck and make me hate them irl.

the pvp is fun because there are some REDICULOUS combos in the multiclassing system they have. i mean hello elem(wiz)/necro? war/monk(cleric)? ranger/mesmer(enc)?

Yeah, I do like the weird class combinations. I just wonder if some combinations are gimped. Like is it better to be a monk/warr or a warr/monk? Or does it just depend on what you'd rather do more? And when you do a secondary profession, do you get access to all the spells for that second class or just some? And if you choose not to have a secondary class, do you become more effective and specialized in your class than if you were to branch out? I don't have any game manual, by the way, Dargor just bought an account online.

I guess the only thing I can think of is since there are only 8 slots for spells (unless I'm retarded, please correct me) you'll be able to access more spells for one class, instead of trying to pick which abilities to use out of all the spells/abilities you could get between two classes.

Also, at what level do you start to get decent armor? I mean having a slutty character is nice and all but I'm starting to feel bad for her, what if it's cold?

Hmm I have the manual, it says that your main profession is the type of armor you will use, for instance, a Warrior/Necro can use warrior armor, a necro/warrior can only use necro armor..... There are some abilities that you can only get when you choose a class as your main profession, like Ithink mesmer has some ability to make you cast faster, and wizard has some ability to have more engery, but you cant have both, so you need to choose which one you like before you create your guy.

marv is correct.

I find it annoying because there is (was? i only played early on) only one char model per main class... so the whole world is populated by like the exact same 5 people over and over again.

I thought it was kinda fun, but it's DEFINATELY not an mmorpg... more like a fantasy-themed tactical combat game, with 3d lobby/chat.

You Pay for the game initially, but no monthly fee after that. They plan to make their money selling expansions.

It does require a CD key. BTW, in the beta, I was untouchable in PvP as a mesmer/necro.
