    Your earliest memory of FoH

First off, thank you everyone who has ever been a part of FoH. Even the people that joined just to tell us we suck, or to attain the rank of officer with the intention of kicking others out, thanks. I never intended or imagined that we'd have a 5 year celebration, as this guild was made to make fun of a very specific community on a very specific server, and never house more than 3 or 4 players (2 of them being alts).

You have made it something more, and kept it relevant throughout many servers and many games. We've been a respected PK guild, a laughingstock, a hated pk guild, an application-only raid guild, a tight-knit friends guild, a small respected good-guy guild, and of course a chaotic mess. All of them were fun.

Anyway, like the subject says, when did you first experience Flowers of Happiness?
What did you do immediately after you got in?

If that memory isn't particularly entertaining, pick a favorite or make something up.

    I'll go first:

    -----------

My earliest memory was being very, very excited. I had to pee but I wanted to play EQ even though I was wearing really nice pants that my mom bought. The guild name had just been approved, and that made me extra excited so much so that I was about to burst were it not for my hands. The original idea for the name (happy flowers) had been rejected a day or so earlier by the GMs. Way back when, online RPG's didn't accept the silly names that are so common these days, so we had to "roleplayify" the guild and its name as per Sunshinne's suggestion. It worked.

Anyway, I ran to Field of Bone and as my character ran I got up and ran around my chair and this screenshot should tell the rest:

PK'ing back then, as some of you remember, was a big no-no. The Rallos Zek community frowned on such actions, for a death cost a player an item, and items were very hard to obtain.

The next 5 years were more fun than my first.

When I first started playing on Rallos I was an Anti. I thought PvP in all forms was evil and needed to be stopped!

I had an enchanter, that at lvl 50 had I believe 1k hps. One of my strongest early memories was getting jumped by blart and ebolted and then dying because there was no real way to cure poison as an enchanter back then.

I gave up on RZ and EQ PvP shortly after that. I returned to SZ the day it opened (actually there was a beta period first wasn't there?). I was a lvl 11 monk named Pickk when I ran into a lvl 22 bard named Lovey who invited me into the guild and proceeded to snare people my level so I could beat them down!

Edit: I thought I would throw this in. I reformed my computer and lost almost all of my good EQ screenshots. However I did come across this one. I leveled up to 65 so quickly that I had absolutely nothing in terms of gear or resists (check out that PR!)

    First memories are for fags.

I remember running around with Rancar and Woodshelf outside Ak'Anon and in Butcherblock. Then I remember Rancar getting some like level 12 dwarf to give him consent after being charmburned. Then we took his corpse up to the top of the Kaladim Entrance behind the giant dwarf's head. That was fun.

Then I remember killing people in Qeynos a lot with Eccomancer and enjoying his corpse art. Also drowning people in qcat for the sheer pleasure of watching them die.

MY PROUDEST MOMENT EVER WAS CHARMBURNING PPLS WITH THE INVESTIGATOR QUEST NPCS but then charmburning got nerfed I cried

Also I went to Legends with my greatest friend Yinyin and we had some fun adventures.

i originally started on sullon because of a few RL friends in hate. they twinked a cleric for me (who i promptly got bored of and sold her gear to reroll rogue), promised to pl me, then two of them quit and the other one was bored raiding. i played around on evil team for a little bit, but by the time i got to level 20ish i was liek "this is stupid." rerolled to goodteam specifically to be with foh b/c i loved the picture stories (especially the fansy and rancar ones). i played as a half elf rogu named punkin, ended up grouping with manaburnman's shaman who was being pled by raneboes in paludal. (rancar joined us for a little while on his berserker and when i found out it was him i had a silly fangirl OMG WTF REALLY? moment @.@)
    anywho, some screenshots:

edit: the images are in the wrong order b/c i fail at the internets. should be in opposite order of how they are now!

I remember stumbling across the website and reading Swamp Defense through a Google search. Then maybe a year later, when Sullon came out, I saw the Fansy stories, and was taken by complete surprise they were on the same website (and then I figured out they were done by the same person).

As for my ingame stuff... my sister and I shared an account for the first years of EQ. She and Wolfie got asked someone... I think Lovey... for an invite. And they joined. But I don't remember much of that.

Then I made Eaglie in Dec 2001 when I got my own account. And I was lvl 6, and all of a sudden, Fansy ran by (a lvl 6 cat at the time) and randomly invited me. Other than the valley girl moment (OMG LIKE ITS FANSY), he trained orc centurions from orc hill on this evil bard Bartlar who was ganking newbies. While I shot my arrows at the bard (the first ones I ever fletched). Got ripped to shreds quite a few times. But it was a thrill shouting GO GO GOOD TEAM with Fansy for the first time.

Found out later that Wolfie asked for my invite, so it wasn't so random.

And now I can't really play with any other guild. ::sniffle of joy::

I made a few different characters on Rallos Zek right after EQ came out and I would play them from time to time when I wasn't playing on my blue server. I never really spent much time playing on Rallos because of the fact that you could never seem to keep the gear you owned. This was back when you'd spend days and days killing gnolls in Blackburrow and then selling the loot until you could build up enough plat to buy regular leather armor. Not long after that you'd get jumped and bam, there goes your leather tunic, hours and hours of work gone!

One day after deciding that EQ was pretty much a boring game and a complete waste of time I got the idea checking out the guilds on Rallos Zek. I had never even thought of joining a guild on my blue server because I thought the idea was just silly and that people who are serious enough about EQ to form and join a guild could not possibly be anything like me. I had played Warcraft II and Quake II and stuff like that where people formed "clans" and I always thought that's what people did when they were too dumb to figure out how to play well on their own without having a bunch of fraternity brothers.

I did a web search for "Rallos Zek guilds" and sure enough there was this "official" Rallos Zek guild page out there, with all the different guilds listed, each with a quote from the guild leader and a link to the guild home page, as well as the guild alignment, such as Player Killing, Non Player Killing, and Random Player killing.

Most of the guilds had the typical roleplaying ideas and the leaders had these quotes that I could never imagine sitting down and coming up with myself. Then I scrolled down to "Flowers of Happiness", Random Player Killing, and a quote that said "More better than all the rest of the others - Blart" and a link to notacult.com

Before I had finished my first episode of Swamp Defense I knew I had found my place. This was a guy who was taking a game that could have been very mediocre and probably not worth playing anymore and making it fun again.

I immediately logged into Rallos and created a Troll Shaman, just like my hero, and started at the name filter. It didn't like the words "booger" or "head" so I had to settle for a modified version.

I had never really played a Troll or a Shaman before and was surpised at how cool it was to play in the Swamp. It was later in the afternoon and slowly the Swamp went from a few anonymous players to about 25 or so, with fine group of level 1-5 Flowers triple teaming other players while they tried to fight off Frogloks and Mushrooms.

I'm almost certain I got my invite from Snugglie who was a few levels higher than me at the time. She did an excellent job of pointing out to all the new Flowers what needed to be done. I remember being grouped with her and a few other flowers and we were watching this other troll fight off some low level monster. She would say, "he doesn't look very happy does he?" and I was thinking "hrmm is this cool? will someone get pissed if I kill another troll?" For some reason I thought people wouldn't like it if I was a troll killing other trolls, it didn't seem ethical.

Someone in the group said "should we hit him?", and Snuggs says "yes of course, he's very unhappy". So 3 of 4 of us run over and beat down an already half dead troll with our newbie clubs. I sat there laughing for a while thinking "wow, that was pretty fun". Then the complaining started. We were being called every name in the book, people were really mad at us. It was then I thought "man this is really fun, these people are actually sitting in front of their computers steaming mad". I was hooked on that idea from then on.

My first memory FoH memory was when we were all in the chatroom and our name was Blart/Geandily and we were waiting for the GM to come in and approve it, BUT THEN HE DIDNT. But then sunshinne thought of the name hooray!

But I guess my first in game memory was when you were wandering around trying to find some froglok camp so that you could grind it for slime or something. AND THEN THE GMS MAKE YOU THE LEADER OMG

My bro started playing a few months before Kunark came out, I didn't pay attention until the expansion came in the mail and thought "wow Iksar... cool lizard men!" and started one up on his account (I played off his until he eventually quit and took over it), I started some time around Feb '01.

It was still the bygone days where roleplaying was the norm and everyone in Field of Bone was into it, from "sssssss", chasing the pink skins outta the Field and obsessing about kinslayers.

Eventually the greatest achievment that came from that character was buying a Tower Guard Blade from a powergamer for 15plat and getting a full set of banded, I stopped playing that character shortly after.

By then my bro was in the mid 30s and decided to start a new character, shamans looked awesome (99.9% because of SoW), trolls looked awesome (regen omg, sexy looks) so we made one, we got him to like lv12 and then thought that they sucked. we still loved trolls so we made an Sk, Yessir.

We got him to lv9 to before my bro decided to play his necro more, so I flew solo abit before I being tempted by the evils of PKing and made Nektulos my permanent home, I didn't feel good killing trolls back then. By lv14 or so I found that wasn't so fun with a rustly two-hander. Some how I discovered the secret of something called de-leveling and tried it out until I was lv6, pvp became fun all of a sudden bashing of people anywhere from lv2-lv9 (lv10s were too much... yet), my bro tossed me a Fine Steel Two-Hander and I discovered two other neat things, people called twinks and people called Flowers.

The former I loved, giving me treats anywhere from Bands of Flesh to Adamantite Bands, the latter I hated (until I found Swamp Defense), they killed my bro, griefed me and killed newbies I wanted to grief. One night fighting "them" I declared war on all of FoH, we'd spar on and off until Yessirs untimely end and beyond.

I finally got the idea to put my old Tower Guard Blade on him and even more fun insued now that I could 1 shot lv2s, in fact so much fun occured that one day I shut down all of Nuktulos for several hours until a GM showed up and informed me that if they recieved one more petition about Yessir, they would ban my account. Knowing how newbies acted, that petition would pop up next time I came online and with my bro still playing to, he'd kill me if I got his account banned(he continued to call it that until I quit). I transfered off Yessir's items to my new Druid, deleted him and laid low for awhile, returning to the land of Anti's.

Two- three months later I made a new Sk troll with the intention of having him be Anti to. I named him after a local restaurant that was tucked away in a road I'd never been on until I took it after seeing a movie with Wackymarv and his dad, it was called the Savage Bistro. Wacky and I didn't know what the kiss a bistro was back then so we had a good laugh a the pun, the name poped back into my mind when I was making my Sk, Savagebeastro didn't fit so I just went with Beastro.

I got tired with him being an Anti (I kept my Druid one and he become a mediocre raid character I played to see the end game) I got Beastro to lv19 before de-lving again (with hindsight I should have gone the extra lv and got him a surname, I didn't know until years later you kept it if you went below lv20) to lv6, re-equiping my old Tower Guard Blade and a crap bow, I returned to Nekutlos and soon continued my war against FoH. Not long after I achieved the greatest blow I made against my rival when a random FoH twink invited me to pk newbs with her, I joined wondering what to do, things fell into place when a bunch of newbs attacked us, I held back abit letting her get beat down until she was near dead, then HTed her, looting her Mithril BP before the newbs got me aswell and had a good laugh when we poped back in Neriak and she yelled at me "You low!"
I held onto her Mithril BP, it eventually became the first item I equiped the day they nerfed looting newbs below lv10, after seeing 5 other trolls in Iksar BPs, Fungis, Lammy Swords, Sarnak Shields and every slot with an hp item, that was a sad day as I prided myself on fighting the newb armies with just my weapons and little else besides a Goblin Necklace for gear.

My war with FoH cooled down when I expanded more into the Commonlands and Ro's to encounter more than just FoH's random invites, soon I was Pking with some and cheering the 10+ fighters like Alakamelee on, though I turned down their invites. I put my Tower Guard Blade to rest and put on a Smoldering Ember and Shiny Brass Shield, my bro quit, and Wacky started playing, originally with my Druid on a Necro, Fansy's story came out and I finally refused to attack any FoH, eveny those pesky ranodm invites. though they continued to fight me. Then one night an FoH officer tossed me an invite (Vova I think....) and I accepted, and soon was bugging Wacky to have his troll join, he held out for a few weeks before finally giving in to.

    Shit that was big...

My first flower memory... I had just started my rogue on RZ and wandered into Paludal and ran into Inmabeli!

I suppose my first good memory though also took place in Paludal, when I got the chance to group with Lolnoob in Paludal before he joined the flowers, logged off one day and came back and there the tag was hohoho.

I was origanally interested in pvp, so when sullon opened i joined because i thought the teams sounded cool. well, it just so happens my favorite class/race is high elf paladin. i was good. i had no clue what was to happen. evil began amassing its army of munchkins/powergamers/want to pk with necors and SKs just because its "easier". well i played there guildless for a year, then took a 6 week break. i created a new account and played as Acidtrance (origanally cat BL, then realized it wasent the class for me and made him a high elf paladin), Maarken (half elf bard changed to rogue because i cant play bards very well and i pwn with rogues,) and Kett my mage unchanged because i love mages. I looked server stats and low and behold, good was a larger team then it was! i had to find out why. Thats when i happened across Flowers of Happiness website. I fell in love with the philosephy, and fansy and blart (in a compleatly platonic way) and joined them. After a while, all my dreams came true, just liek when i voted pedro. I was invited on UP raids and fansy killed fire and ice for newbies to get good equip, so i got a bit decked out. Then i was premoted to ossifer. My ultimate dream came true. but my parents pulled the plug on everquest, and i will most likely start playing this summer again on SZ, restarting again, so i hope theres still room for me in ol' FoH!

I remember first getting interested in pvp and deciding to join the sullon zek team. I rolled an iksar necromancer and levelled up on the server and killed ponywong numerous times(he denies this vehemently) and then got banned. I came back as a good because of Pony!Ty pony

    Me

Well, my first flower memory was probably a LONG time before I joined flowers and possibly before flowers existed. I remember going as Lyre my (m4d undefeated!) bard on RZ with oogamuk and sybex... or was it oogamuk and peoo? I forget I dont remember if i ever met sybex... They were the awesomest ogres ever. Countless times toal kollekting etc. Anyways, I remember meeting blart in upper guk at the time when he was fighting with people in shout over camping the crocodile (hohoho).

I had a ton of big ass guild battles and such with lyre.. god eq pvp was hella awesome before kunark .. No other mmo class is ever gonna be as dynamic and fun as the bard was then...

I dont remember exactly what time I joined FoH but I remember being on as UberShammie and ganking nubs nigh indefinately in FoB etc, and when I was camping out in Kurns Id send blart and dopy tells about the people soloing to 1/8th their life wearing theyre shiny kunark bps and then theyd ride in and wtfpwn their faces.

    That was swell !

Those guys were part of the reason I decided to go PK with Blart. They were having more fun than anyone else. As a young troll I klomped hummies and collekted toals, but as I got higher level I became more anti. There was no Peoo at level 50+, and there was no such thing as roleplayed PvP at that level either.

I was a hideous troll and peoo helped me come to terms with it.

I remember you in upper guk too, hummie slabe wif pointy eers.

Ill admit it, I was part of a roleplay pvp guild at the time (black tear/ the horde), but you know what? we killed so many damn people, had a TON of fun doing it, etc. We had friday night brawl nights in the arena in neriak.. it was the shit.. everyone was good at what they did, it was sort of a pre-flowers for me. god.. I miss my bard bad man... we had that batle against uh... shit... what was that guild..It wasnt elven poosaders, but it was similar but with less suctular members. It was primarily the polar opposite of the horde.. where our highest member was like 3 levels under their lowest and we still smashed the crap out of them.. Those big fights made the bard shine so bad..

God I think there were like 4 bards on rz at the time too hohoho.. I remmeber ssok, lohengrin, and some level 30ish human one.

Yeah I kinda feel partly responsible for why oogamuk and peoo got bored.. they never ahd any healers etc so they never leveled up. We did a bunch of late night guk sessions where we positively tore thru the levels.. they ended up +20 levels in a short amt of time then kinda never got back into the groove due to changing range/types of players now available to them.

My first memory of FoH was indirect actually. The man of many names, currently "WeEatDeadPeople", was telling me about pk'ing EQ. Unfortunately EQ was before my time as far as online games, but it sounded like it was alot of fun.
Then at some point he sent me a link to the foh website. My first reaction "wtf, is this a cult?!" him: "READ THE URL!". So I read fansy, etc, probly like a bunch of other people. Little by little I started figuring out what FoH was all about.
With WoW I got to hook up with you guys for the first time. I didn't notice how much fun it was until we tried to go play on another server, to give alliance a try. BORING! Games just aren't as fun without FoH. Funny, before I thought you guys were crazy, now it seems normal...

I was in org shouting something in general chat... and somone told me to shut up or something. So i responded (in general chat) something along the lines of why dont you shut the kiss up or soemthin. I immediately got a tell that I was perfect, and got an invite seconds later. I started playing EQ right after Kunark came out. over the next few years I got a few chars into their mid-thirties levelwise, but kept finding out that things became work at that point, and would loose interest.

I had a little guild of RL friends I played with, and that was kinda fun, but they all got higher level than me and wanted to sit somewhere and grind mobs for hours at a time and I thought that was boring as hell and didn't like it one bit. Clearly, high-level EQ was not something I enjoyed... it was REALLY boring, and spending 2 hours to set up get ready to kill the same mobs for 4 hours was NOT something that seemed worth grinding for days and days on end to do...

Fortunately for me, there were aspects of EQ that kept me interested... What I really liked was running around Innothule and Barshing froglocks and mushrooms, and chatting to people in incomprehensable retard-speak. I was CONSTANTLY re-rolling baby trolls and levelling them to 9 or so, getting bored with them, deleting and starting over... Every time a new clean server was realeased, I was there -- despereately trying to killsteal that froggie with a cracked staff from the 100-some other naked level 3 trolls... camping crocodiles in Upper Guk (not the Ancient Croc -- generic normal little crocs within running distance of the entrance zoneline) and generally dreading the day that I would have to leave my happy little swamp world and inevitably delete the char and start over...

Somewhere in that process, I discovered the Swamp Defense stories, and I immediately developed a terrible man-crush for Blart, and decided that he was the absolute bestest eq-player ever. Of course, I would never get to that level, and being a permanoob on a pvp server didn't really seem like fun at the time... (meaning I only had 2 or so baby trolls on rallos just then)

    Enter Sullon Zek:

A Brand New server (win!) with no play-nice policy (fun drama) one char per account (interesting) and team pvp (defens da swamp!!) omg soo much fun, I just HAD to play on that ))) of course I jumped into the beta as soon as they brought it up, and even got my newest lil trollette there to level 12 when I noticed something a bit disturbing... I HADN'T FOUGHT ANYONE YET.... wtf? evil team is dumb.

A quick look at the map showd that Good Team was clearly the way to go if your wanted to fight people, so I rolled a good team Barb Shaman on launch. It was great fun. We were soooo amazingly outlevelled and outnumbered and outzerged that every kill was an amazing victory against overwhelming odds... it was hopeless and beautiful at the same time. And we had a Hero! Fansy the Famous Bard, with his all-giant band of Joy Fighting the GOOD fight for GOODNIS! Clearly, this guy was at LEAST as cool as Blart... I had a brand new favorite mmorpg player ever (hang with me here... I can be a bit slow, and hadn't made the connection yet k?) Fansy was the Bestest -- and I loved him.

But, I didn't love EQ if I wasn't a troll in the swamp... so I gave up on Sullon and went back to my bluebie server and worked on my latest new troll project (a shadowknight who thought he was a necromancer... in all cloth with a dagger and stuff) 'cept I don't like that stat allocation, so I'll reroll AGAIN... and again... ya'know pvp was kinda fun... maybe I'll go play on Rallos for a bit...

So I made yet another new troll on rallos. And was happily bashing froglocks, and being amused by the occasional FoH nublet spamming random crap in /ooc or /shout but not really thinking much of it. (god, I can hear the impending tl/dr's already... i'd better get to the point)

    ...and then fate stepped in...

There I was, in the entrance of Guk, doing my standard "kill a few frogs, gain a lil exp, train myself with runners and die, loose the xp" thang, when there was a knock on the door. I got up to answer it, and it was my RL boss, who was borrowing our BBQ for some sort of drinking event thing that was going on, and so I helped her load it up in her truck and (having been reminded of the goodnis of beer) got myself a drink and rememberd that I should prolly get back to the game, and went back to the computer to run back to my corpse (I was surely dead, I thought)

    I was.

But so were a crapload of other people....

Apparently, going AFK in the entrance of Guk as a big fat troll has a tendancy to get people killed, and hence, raged... BOY were they mad at me. The spam was amazing -- I had totally ruined the whole life of all sorts of people, or so they would have me believe.

Not EVERYONE hated my for the stunt tho... In addition to the pages of hate-spam and threats, I had this lovely little guild-invite box on my screen.

    I clicked YES.

And I've been a happier mangina ever since!

My old board handle was Waaza, but I don't have the password anymore.

I remember participating in raids led by Vova on HHK in which we blocked the doors so no one could get by.

I also remember arena tournaments in early '02. Especially trying to make even teams when all we had were 2 level 50s and 10 level 20s.

Hey.. I've been playing Rallos Zek for a LONG ass time, well over 5 years, pre kunark, beta.. Some of you might know me, my chars are Kannaydar, ( lvl 12 DE necromancer pk) Bleedyy (lvl 52 DE rogue pk, creator of inimical, keepers of the dark flame, Que Lastima, and Cazics Shadow) Snickarz (lvl 22 pk monk) Shnickerz (lvl 55 pk Shadowknight) Cassia (lvl 56 pk Druid) Flikkenx (lvl 54 pk wizz gnome) .. well.. my first memory of FoH was when I Was playing my monk snickarz, lvl 15 at the time, I saw a bunch of naked newbs standing around orc 1 in east commonlands, with the tag Flowers of Happiness, I thought wow, what a bunch of retards, hohoho, so me and my RL friend, who was playing Shnickerz at the time joined up with me, and we rolled about 5 of you guys hohoho.. We used to kill you queers all the time, but eventually I became friends with a lot of your members, and I think you are hilarious people, keep the killing.. ( I Quit rallos about 2 months ago, due to faggot ass bluebie patching.. no item loot, ect.. ) I'll miss fighting you, and killing fag anti's.. Good luck on world of warcraft, my love to Lolnoob.

my first memory of the flowers is actually from a friend: he was leveling one day in Black Burrow and he said the place got trashed, and some of the people doing the pking were in a guild called "Flowers of Happiness." We both laughed (conversation was over the phone) and thought being killed by someone with such a tag was pretty ironic and humiliating, like getting pk'd by a erudite paladin.

He was playing a gnome wizzard, and I was playing a barbarian shaman. I remember dreading running into BB because the tunnel in part of it was so black and human vision was horrible that one day I spent like a couple hours just running around in pitch black part of the tunnel. Sometimes the gama trick worked and I could get in and out fine, but other times for some reason the gama wouldn't change.

We had recently come back to EQ from UO and man I hated EQ so much. I was level 12 for a very long time. We both leveled up to 16 and 17 I think and did the Oasis PK track. We later rerolled (sometime after velious maybe, I remember the twinks running around with lamentations and ikky bps and mithril staves and Guardian armor) as a gnome necro and an assling druid, again just to PK in Oasis. There were by no means an abundance of twinks at this point, maybe like 2 or 3 tops that had that kinda gear in Oasis.

Me and my friend never had much time to level up or twink out, and our method for "making cash" was usually abusing the hell out of the stein of mogguk quest, but we could'nt endure it too much because of all the god awful running involved. Man I hated that shit about eq, the boats and running and constant waiting detracted from the early part of the game so much for me. Pking was never that profitable for us (some times we would luck out and get like 50pp or some random piece of armor, but when most of the people you killed were just as poor as you, it wasn't the best way to "make cash." We never PK'd for loot though, we just loved to kill people). On my barbarian shaman PK all I ran around in was a damn cloth or leather cap just for the obnoxious polar bear hat effect. I think I had some spear that someone gave to me that I was always so excited to see hit someone for like 12 or 24 damage. For my druid I was able to get the glowing wooden crook and man I loved that staff, loved the contrast of an assling with a giant LotResque staff.

It was on my n00 dr00d that I think I got invited into FoH for the first time by Nallian's Ogre. I just remember him saying "lets take back da beech" and I remember referrencing the jokes about "phat_lewtz/phat l00tz" which I knew to be de rigeur among the FoH circle at the time. We ran up and down the shore and I think I attacked and killed some people and then he invited me. I think shortly after he got jumped by a bunch of Ogres (Shreik is the only name that I recall) and I cant remember the outcome...think he died.

A bit later in my EQ career I rolled a half elf bard called Requiiem and joined FoH for like a week, and then joined Legion of Legends. After being in hohoho (heh) for a few weeks I quit EQ again for a while and after that moved to tallon zek because I had a friend there and I was tired of running around as a naked caster or a bard with the no drop guk armor and a SSoY. Both me and my friend left RZ, but not before we FINALLY killed Naffwin, this little assling warrior with guardian, lammys, wurmslayer, mithril staff, high mr (ie 75) that used to just murder the shit outa us. Our necro druid team finally brought him down in just our naked asses casting spells, he didnt even get to pull the ring.

Rallos was a badass server to grow up playing on because it was the hardest server, you learned all the tricks (funny how people become pretty resourceful when items are on the line) and were exposed to all sorts of opportunistic bastards. I remeber my early PK career on tallon, my ranger was called Erectus Organgrinder and I got to level 20 and would camp out in HPH which was a popular "lighty" leveling spot, where lots of gnomes and humans would go from about 14-20. I would wait till there was a massive spawn of orcs and the group pulled, train the rest of the orcs on the group, and then just cut all the people to shreds while they were sending tells "omg wtf thats not fair." heh, the added bonus was when people would notice me and run around shouting "GET ERECTUS!!1" I pulled that cheap shit for so long that other players started petitioning to get my last name changed. Of course the GMs were all to happy to change it =/ I actually stole the last name from Melvyn, a bard I always thought was at least an interesting character on RZ. Too, when I would finally get worn down and killed by the_angered_mob_of_HPH I would always be able to pull a ring and man that would piss them off -- they had just never been exposed to that kind of tactic before. I had a lot of fun with mojo sticks at the expense of the lowbies on tz, too.

I enjoy the FoH playstyle these days, mainly though because I think I'm jaded as shit. I PK'd in Diablo 1, UO, and lastly EQ and by that time the whole noble paladin vs. evil dread lord shit had just worn off on me. I think also because the mens rea of (the real)FoH involves a sort of Nietzscheian tight rope walker mentality that I have come to identify with these days: you can _jump_ on a tight rope and not lose your balance and laugh as your peers (who take games too seriously) lose their balance and fall off.

Anyways, sorry for the digressions and general nostalgia, and 30 page thesis here heh. omg tl;dr!

Oh, and how can there be an EQ FoH memory thread without CRUSADER ZOG!! "I am constant as the North Star."

Man, players just don't come like that anymore.

I remember dreading the trip to Oasis to get see invis (or some handy spell like that) for my barb shammie when SZ first opened up... Dont think I ever did bother going... but it was scary just to think about.

    Rallos Zek.

Being level 1, I was stepping out onto the green muck of the swamp, and along came a big fat ogre in bronze, weilding a velious weapon (velious weapons looked so cool back then). In one fell swoop, I was knocked unconsious. I fell down, and I popped right back up with 1 hitpoint and watched him get clobbered to death by a guard.

I hugged him, afterwards and told him that he made me happy anyway. That was my first interacton with an FoH member.

I joined that day, and they haven't been able to get rid of me since.

Here's an oldschool collage, of my most memorable FoH moments of swamp days. I am sure I've posted it before, but it still gives me fuzzies. Warm ones.

I remember teaming up with a guy named Scroogedd and an ogre called Bonezz or something. We killed ppl with our perfect faction. When I was taking out a bunch of DEs, I got all the skelly camps and agroed them and got the killshot. Ppl would say "hohoho wtf kind of pkr r u".

I had been running alll the way from Grobb to Neriak, at level 5 or so. Rather big feat for me. I was carrying 40 plat, when it meant something to a lowbie. And I got all the way to EC/Nektulos zone, when I got bufud by a ranger named Nyzek with a silver swiftblade, a mage named Siluuvan, and a rogue named Makkoo with a slime coated harpoon.
I knew what was coming so I offered to give him them the cash just so I wouldnt have to run all the way again. (15 minute run or something like that)

I handed it over and then got raped. Of course I wrote all their names down to pk them later.

About a week later the group had been hanging outside of Guk, and I managed to kill the mage with a harmtouch, ran promptly back to the gaurds. One of them sent me an invite after that.

Also before there was an FoH on SZ (I think), Vova called everyone who didnt play on SZ to create an evil gnome warrior and we raided Gfay with these level 1 toons.
All of us had names like Blartfinger or Blartrectum, and tried to get a guild formed called Blarts Parts. It didnt work out so hot so we all rolled necromancers got our level one pets and charged again. Then we started getting name nerfed after an hour and quit.

My name is Steve and I used to be a bl00b.

I had rl pals who played on Xegony when I started playing EQ. I got a Ranger to 52 or so before I found myself begging for groups in Sebelis for yet another attempt at some rare bow and Tolans bracer of arrows or something. It was tiresome work for even the heartiest half elf and I grew weary.
Finally, I came across a link to Swamp Defense and I heard little trolls with angel wings singing RALLOS ZEK in perfect troll harmony.
Blart was looting Tolans bracers for fun, just to taunt wussy rangers, and never having to even GO to kunark much less camp Sebelis for weeks on end. My prayers had been answered.
I, like Booga, made a troll shaman in honor of my new hero and proudly emerged into the hallowed swamp. There to my suprise was Blart himself!!!OMFG!!! There were 8 or 10 other diaper wearing troll nUbz there too. Like kissin papparazzi we all took screenshots of the mighty superstar. Then my EQ dream was fulfiled as Blart himself invited me and made me an officer. I literally had not been a troll on Rallos for more than 10 minutes and BINGO I was a Flower!
I told Blart that it made me feel very special and he said to me these immortal words which I will never forget as long as I live...

    "hahaha"
