I have nearly reached maximum level in Rift, you guys want me to make the guild? Is there a good time to get together so I can collect signatures? Any limitations to recruitment you'd like me to follow?

why should one play rift

It is, in all honesty, a pretty fun game. You start out by picking one of four classes, and each of those 4 classes has ~8 subclasses, of which you choose 3. Your skills are determined through a talent point system that unlocks additional abilities as you invest your points in that subclass tree, making for a pretty startling level of customization. That high level of customization allows for overly powerful combinations to exist - my Necromancer/Choloromancer has an instant cast, long-range Mortal Strike equivilent, a host of DOT's, heals, rez, snares, snare removal....etc. Graphics are pretty good, the game has yet to crash for me, and the quests are pretty interesting without being difficult to undertake. There are tons of artifacts hidden throughout the world that you are rewarded for collecting. Cross-team chat (though not in a chat channel, just /says and /yells) makes for some pretty hilarious rage. We're the good guys with the Gods' favor and we get to yell fundamentalist slogans while riding whilly-nilly through ranks of angst scientists. I got to lvl 49 in like 3 weeks despite being employed and generally bad at videogames. There very well may be issues once capped, and I'll be sure to pass them on once encountered - but this game, in my mind, blows darkfall/aoc/warhammer out of the water. Oh yeah, it's called Rift because a big part of the game are the rifts that spawn at seemingly random intervals, and require that you team up with others in the zone (sometimes even stinky sceintist definats) so that they dont rape all the quest-giving NPC's. Is fun

Anyways I got max level and now I eat kids lunch. They released a patch that adds a lot to class balance, and they send cool server-clustery-thing wide tells about banning botters (sorry team). They also sent me an email stating that anyone who wants to play for 3 days for free can just use the code, which I've attached. I'll try to make a picture story, but you can be almost certain it will suck and make you want to play the game even less.

Can you elaborate? Aion wasn't bad, it just wasn't better than another game that ten million of my (potential) friends play. I'm sick of having to pay $50 to find out if a game is good just because none of you make long, boring, ten thousand word posts about every game you play, like I do. Start pulling your weight in word count.

I'm having a hard time trying to decide what to play, Bard was pretty cool but I hate the fact that the bard is sub-par.. at everything. And twisting songs every 30 seconds pissed me off.

I haven't played anything mainstream in a long while but I am finding it quite fun. The game runs very smooth and the graphics are nice.

There is a tonne of content and an almost endless number of ways to build your character since there are so many "classes" to choose from and you can combine any three within your archetype. The rift events and the attacks on the towns keep things interesting and make the game world feel like it living and breathing. NPCs actually walk around town and shoot-the-shit, and guards on patrol actually patrol. Its nice to see a bit of attention given to NPCs instead of them all being glued to one spot frozen in the same position.

There really isn't anything too new as far as I have seen so far (I'm only level 12 though). Is it very similar to WoW? YES. But they do seem to have combined all features from recent MMOs which have lead to their widespread popularity.

The longevity of it will depend on what the end-game content is like but I am enjoying the ride right now since this is simply a well-made enjoyable game to play.
